Dogs are welcome and there is an all-year dog-friendly beach 2 minutes away with lots of dog-friendly restaurants & pubs all within walking distance.

At the front of the Cottage, there is storage for paddleboards & surfboards and access to a portable shower to wash down your sandy toes and paws.

There is also a boat launch slipway at Polly steps car park which is a short walk. You pay to park your boats and launch on the slipway direct onto the River Teign.

Key lock access to the house is located in a private gated mews. Free car park permit for one car. There are 2 car parks within a 1 minute walk away from the cottage and 3 other car parks available in town with the permit.

Open plan lounge, kitchen diner with a secluded outdoor courtyard. Wet room/bathroom and utility area downstairs on the level which is ideal for sandy toes on your return from the beach. There are three double bedrooms; two on the first floor; a triple bunkroom and a double room. These share a stylish first-floor bathroom. On the second floor, you have a double bedroom where you can catch a glimpse of the river over the rooftops from the double-aspect windows. The sunny enclosed courtyard area with garden furniture for dining outside at breakfast or dinner, an outdoor shower and a barbecue.

The cottage also has wifi, a Nespresso coffee machine and Sky TV in the lounge and the main bedroom. There is also access to maps of the local area & information books. Board Games can be found under the sofa. There are buckets, spades and games and plastic wear for you to take your picnic to the beach.

A 2-minute stroll to explore the back beach, bars & cafes and take the oldest working ferry www.teignmouthshaldonferry.co.uk across to the quaint village of Shaldon & the famous smuggler's tunnel to Ness Cove Beach or visit the zoo www.shaldonwildlifetrust.org.uk or walk back along Teignmouth seafront towards the famous Victorian pier www.teignmouthpier.com and on to Holcombe Beach. The train station is an 8 min walk which is direct to London Paddington/Waterloo or Direct to Exeter where you get picked up by the newly opened Dartmoor line which takes you to Okehampton and you can explore Dartmoor from there. www.dartmoorline.com

Dartmoor National Park is a 25-minute drive away where you can explore 368 square miles of breathtaking scenery with craggy landscapes, forests, rivers, wetlands & tors. The children will love to climb Haytor rock and seeing the Dartmoor ponies & sheep roaming wild is a real Devon treat. There are so many cosy pubs, restaurants and cafes for a hearty meal or the scrumptious Devon cream tea which are always so well received after an exhilarating walk on the moor.

Beach School days are guaranteed fun. We explore beaches, rivers and estuaries. We take part in beach cleans, seaweed surveys, bird watching, boat trips, shark teeth hunting etc.
